Carbon Footprint Passport

One clear sign. Any medium.

A DeBacco Nexus seal tells people that a Carbon Footprint Passport exists. It can travel with a report, image, video, audio file, or dataset.

Read the seal at a glance.

Every status has a clear color, shape, and plain-language meaning. The same meaning works on a document, video, audio file, data record, or Passport screen.

GREEN · VERIFIED

An issued Passport was found and the record checks out.

CHECK MARK · VERIFIED

YELLOW · PAUSED OR MISSING

The work needs review, or no issued Passport could be found. Do not assume provenance.

TRIANGLE · CHECK FIRST

RED · STOP / INVALID

The record does not match or is not valid. Do not rely on the presented seal.

OCTAGON · DO NOT RELY

See the red status in action.

Change an illustrative receipt character and watch the status change. The demonstration shows what an integrity warning looks like; it is not a physical-copy test.

The seal system

One Passport. Three ways it appears.

They all open the same signed Carbon Footprint Passport. The format changes only to fit the kind of work.

1 · Document seal

QR Passport Seal

For reports, research papers, and data records. Scan it to open the signed Passport.

Use when a reader needs a direct, reliable route to the record.
2 · Signal seal

Accountability Band

For audio and video. A light visual or signal marker carries the Passport route without covering the work.

Use when a square QR code would interrupt the media.
LIGHT-RESPONSE SEAL
3 · Camera-assisted seal

Spectral Response Seal

For media that needs a camera-assisted visual check before opening the Passport.

This is an experimental research feature. The signed Passport remains the verification record.

Your logo inside the seal.

A university, agency, company, or research program can place its mark in the center of the Passport seal. The mark shows who issued or sponsored the record; the signed Passport remains the proof behind it.

Environmental Fiduciary Duty means: we choose governed AI, make its use visible, and account for the energy, water, and carbon estimate behind that work. It is a public commitment to use AI with care for people and the planet.

What the Passport can show you.

Open the Passport only when you need the detailed record behind the seal.

1

Agent Identity

The authorized actor that requested the action. Scoped identifier, not a global key.

2

Multi-Model Consensus

Three independent models voted on whether the request should proceed.

3

Intent Classification

Model E classified the request against the declared mission authority.

4

Compliance Checks

PII, content safety, minor references, data boundary, mission authority, purpose.

5

Environmental Fiduciary Duty

The commitment: governance can protect people and the living systems that power their tools.

6

Environmental Estimate

A declared modelled estimate of energy, water, carbon, and avoided target work. It is not a physical measurement.

7

Ed25519 Signature

Cryptographic signature verifiable by anyone with the public key.

8

Receipt Hash Chain

SHA-256 linking this transaction to the governed chain. Tamper-evident by design.

What a seal means—and does not mean

The seal is a doorway to a signed Passport. It helps a person find the record behind AI-assisted work.

A seal alone does not prove that a report is true, that a person approved it, or that it will be accepted by a court or regulator. Open the Passport and check the issued record.

C2PA can carry signed history with a digital file. A DeBacco Nexus Passport can add the governed AI-work record behind it.

Checking an issued Passport

Scan the seal. Open the Passport.

Use your phone camera to scan a seal on an issued document. The Passport record opens on your phone. Give it a few seconds to show its decision, time record, and declared resource fields.

Live demonstration — a real signed sample appears here

Create a sample Passport.

This separate demonstration runs a new governed AI request and shows the signed record it returns. It is not the same thing as checking an already-issued document.

Open the Passport when the record matters.

A visible seal can be copied. The verifier checks the issued record and artifact hash; it does not authenticate a physical print.

Run the optional sample only if you want to see a new Passport created.
